Charity Abseil for Rainbows Hospice

On the 12th March Councillors Marion Broomhead, David Findlay and I undertook a charity abseil to raise money for Rainbows. This was at Leicestershire southern fire station. We managed to raise over £250 so far, thank you to all those who donated.

After a quick introduction we started some safety training and then practiced abseiling outside on the fire stations training tower. Initially we abseiled down the lowest level of the tower before climbing to the top for our final abseil. Each Councillor managed to complete the abseil with support from the audience below including Blaby Council leader Terry Richardson and Alberto Costa MP.
I found the experience very enjoyable and humble, being able to help raise money for Rainbows was the goal here and we achieved that.
